SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY 

Raj Tekchandani is the founder and managing principal of Smart Capital, a private equity real estate investment firm. He started investing in real estate in 2012 and has now been a General Partner in over 15 commercial real estate syndications. These investments include existing apartment complexes totaling over 3000 units, land development, and new multifamily construction. He has also had three successful exits in his portfolio.

Prior to founding Smart Capital, Raj was a successful product marketing and technology professional. He holds an MBA from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology.

He is a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council, where he frequently contributes on the use of Technology in Real Estate. He also manages the Facebook groups – Apartment Investing and Multifamily Syndication (AIMS) and Data-Driven Real Estate Investing. He is also an angel investor in some early-stage tech startups.

Raj served as a member of the Master Planning Steering Committee for the Town of Andover. He is also the Vice President and Board Member of the Boston Chapter of Pratham – a nonprofit devoted to providing education and helping underprivileged kids in India.

He lives with his family in the Boston area and enjoys travel, golf, and photography.
